Each year we are challenged by the team at St Patrick’s College for Girls in Campbelltown to create a new and innovative design for their annual Yearbook. 6 years of Turas design means we are perpetually presented with the question of how to make this year feel completely different to last?

This year, we brought in elements showcasing specific changes on the school grounds (new Kiss & Ride area + beautiful magnolia trees) and a softer, cooler colour palette than we have used the past few years. We did a custom line drawing of the new entrance to the school which we incorporated throughout the 180 pages of yearbook.

The trick to making huge long format documents like this not feel static is to have a variety of page layouts to utilise across different sections, and have your type hierarchy down pat. With the Turas, we are creating a document that showcases the best of the year that was for both the students, their families and the wider community. Balancing these competing styles is always a challenge we enjoy.
